Www.hotjobs.yahoo.com was a job searching website operated by Yahoo.com that was acquired by Monster.com in late 2010. After the acquisition, all traffic to the website (also known as www.hotjobs.com) has been redirected to Monster, and the hotjobs yahoo job search website has ceased to exist. All existing users of HotJobs have been transferred over to Monster as of early 2011, and all resumes and information of previous Hotjobs users have now been integrated into the new website.
If you are a previous user, your Yahoo ID will be valid in logging in to Monster, and you should be able to view and retrieve the information in your account. You can do all the tasks you need for your employment opportunity search in the new place. For example, you can upload one or more resumes to the site under the “Career Tools” tab. Uploading multiple resumes may increase your chances of landing a position, as each resume may be tailored to specific companies or industries, and may be found by an employer’s keyword search. In addition to uploading resumes, you can, of course, do a simple search at the site. Simply specify your location and job title, and the search engine will show any available job postings in your area of interest.
Now that the transition has been smoothly accomplished, most job seekers report a better user experience at the new site. Because the databases of both sites have been merged, they can now search a larger database of position openings to find the position they desire. The job searches on Monster.com are generally more sophisticated, with the ability for users to refine results based on company or industry. In addition, searches can be saved for later perusal, and the site tracks all the jobs that you have previously applied for, so that you do not end up applying for the same position again. Many users appreciate the better selection of career tools at the new site, as well as the better customer service.
